its all the parts that replace the internals of the tranny to make it stronger and hold more power. I think it runs like 730 for the parts.

level 10 performance kit claims to withstand "500 hp" or something like that

i highly doubt thats the case. im sure some of the s/c'ed auto maxes can prove em wrong

sure they can withstand it, but the more important questions is how long will it last...

I think for that much money, a 5spd conversion is a much better option.

You guys make it seem like a 5-spd is bullet proof. So with all these comments about coverting to 5-spd, are you guys saying that a 5-spd won't have problems in the long run with all that power?

I'd definately be willing to bet that a rebuilt 5 spd with an upgraded clutch will last much longer than a rebuilt automatic with a vb, especially since im running higher boost.

Besides, u can just replace the clutch in a 5spd, to replace the clutches in the auto, ur looking at a total tear down...

Overall, the conversion is my best bet. There's no way i'd rebuild my auto and run that again, only to blow it agian in 6 months.

Oh and not to mention how much of a power loss you have with an automatic vs the auto...

Ahh I see, so yea its about funds and when it could be done. I did my auto rebuild because I didn't have any of the 5-spd parts at the time my auto broke down on me. I truly want the 5-spd because like you said, its easier and less expensive to rebuild it over the auto, and the 5 gears is nice too. Right now, its just going to have to wait, I'm dead broke.
