Running Max during rebuild

Running Max during rebuild
I'm thinking its time for a supercharger rebuild.
The max is my (only) daily driver so I'd like to keep
running it while the sc is sent to vortech.
It seems simple enough...
reattach my old CAI,
plug up the oil drain
put in a small belt to run the pulleys without the SC...
Anyone else done this?
Am I missing anything?
(Idiot check please. )
Would a stock belt work?
I'm bummed. after about 40K miles ... time for rebuild.
The sc got real loud the other day.

If you still have the alternator bracket that needs to go back on, or take the SC off the bracket and put the bracket back on becuase it holds the alternator now. MY stock belt fit but it was a little loose.

It's definitely RPM dependent (ie the greater the rpm the greater
the noise).
I think its the gears...
It's not the high pitched compressor wine, but more of a mid-ranged
wine.
My theory is that wear and tear has increased the gaps in the
gears, making it noisier over time. But I'm still concerned since I
have *no* idea at what noise levels are considered "acceptable".
Right now, I'm considering doing a rebuild since its probably better
to pay for a minor rebuild now, than a major rebuild later...
