You've gone turbo?

I would save up for an electronic one... They allow you to boost up sooner and keep it there more consistantly. You won't get spikes or boost creep. Most are pretty good... it will depend on the features you want. Some units are easier to change the settings "on the go"... My brother has had 2 Blitz units in his different cars. They're pretty good.

the BOV in the video is HKS SSQ .. however.. your car won't sound like that.. it sounds like that for couple reasons.. amount of boost he is running.. the location of the BOV (fog light holes) and turbo kit.. and you can't spool that turbo ..

so your saying our location would make it much more quiet than that supra?? Do BOV's sound the same in general, just some are more quiet than others? also, what boost is it running and what u mean by spool...

oh and chunger, would u recommend buying these ehh, blitz controllers, gauges offf ebay? i just did a search and found electronic ones for like cheap prices compared to what everyone quotes me...like mid 200's or less...

the location makes a big difference in sound.. that way you will hear it louder or softer outside of the car.. obviously if its next to the engine you won't hear it as loud.. if its by the fog light hole.. you will hear it louder..

IF they are good, why not get them used to save a few bucks... depends on your budget. Just make sure you research the models so they suit your needs.

ok, i think the ones i saw on ebay were new....i'll do more research...is there an exact one u recommend? like can u recommend me one thats a moderately low price and one thats an expensive price? i mean an exact model.

Also sprint, i'll take it there's no modification u can do to put the BOV near the fog lights...like a cold air BOV

all BOV's come with a flange.. you have to weld the flange unto your piping.. its up to you where you want to weld the flange.. you must weld the flange on anyway.. so if you want to try it by the fog lights.. thast up to you.. just going to need a longer vacuum line

Well, don't ask me anything about boost controllers because I wouldn't have the slightest clue. I can say that the Greddy Type-S and HKS Super-Sequential BOVs are the best sounding to most people on the board as well as other tuners. When its mounted close to an opening like a front grill or fog light port, it can be crazy loud. Though, even directly under the hood, I believe from experience, the Greddy Type-S is still very noticeable.

Any details on your turbo setup? Is it one of the kits out now or custom?

I have not proven this to be true or false. Seems to have good reasoning behind it though:

If you put the BOV closer to the turbo, before the intercooler, you will increase the sound level since there is less pressure drop direct from the turbo due to intercooler.

Putting it close to an opening should also be a key factor in where you put it for sound. I am not sure you'd want it to be exposed to the elements though.

The turboXS RFL (Real F$*king Loud) are pretty loud, but I don't like them. I use HKS and it is not very loud probably because of placement. HKS is supposed to be one of the best though for performance, blowing off when there is a pressure difference rather than absolute pressure sense. The Greddy sounds nice too.

As far as boost controller is concerned. Save your money for electronic boost controller. The Greddy Profec B is one of the best buys around in my opinion It is simple to operate, set and install. I have an HKS EVC IV myself which is very nice but probably not worth the money.
