Is this safe? I need to cut some costs :(

Well, I finally got shot down on Thursday and lost my job

What I need to know : am I safe running a 12.7-13.4 a/f ratio? (it's the lowest-highest seen among all my dyno runs above 3,500rpm). I realize that's a bit lean, but heck... that's what I'm getting with the 3.33"/factory disc.

The reason I ask : the layoff got me completely off-guard, and at an utterly BAD time - I just got a new place, and helped my parents get another car... The S-AFCII funds added to a few other misc items around that are sold = enough to cover new tranny... and I can breathe much better. I don't want to go too far into my savings to spend on my car in case I don't find a job for the next little while...

So what do you folks think? I know maxi-od hasn't blown anything up with his feat of 18.xx:1, but I'm not looking to push my luck either...

Sorry to hear that man. I just finished dyno tuning with the S-AFC2 and I got mine to 12.1:1 - 12.3:1 all the way across and gained another 21 fwhp from that, but I really don't know if your a/f is safe. All I can say is, MardiGrasMax helped me adjust my S-AFC2 and he would most likely know if thats truly bad or not. If anything, just try not to boost as much until you can get it tuned. To me, I don't think its that bad, but then again I truly don't know. I for some reason was running really rich on my baseline run at 10.8:1. I'm pretty sure Mardi will know.

do say that too soon....I am still investigating

I push my car....I go WOT 1 - 2 times a day. The car feels funny when 10psi kicks in at 2nd gear. I watch my EGT very carefully. I never did 1/4. rarely raced anybody.

after the 2.87, I have been taking Bart (subway) to work very often. only drive to work once a week.

I really dunno now. even though I am happy with a strong 273hp without 2.5" catback. but I am affraid that the damage is done to the engine and it will melt one day.

btw...I check 2 of my spark plugs today. the color is gray-ish and the gap is 0.39.

another oil sample going to blackstone tomorrow. Bill is going to be happy.

12.7-13.4 probalby isn't going to hurt anything - people have run 18.0 before with no problems even (Although I wouldn't do that for very long)

Anyway - you're probalby just fine. If you have an EGT Gauge, keep an eye on it, but otherwise, have fun!!

Hmm, thought 6:1 would be safe

Ok, well if someone wants my S-AFCII for $290 let me know. IF not, I'll just assume you're helping me decide to keep it
