T3/t04 Vs T04

What's the difference?

What are Each's advantages over the other?

What would make you choose one over the other?

The difference between the two is simply the turbine. On the 3.0L I strongly suggest the T3/T04E hybrid over the straight T04.

There isn't an advantage of going with the T04 unless you plan on running 12+ psi on this engine. The T3/T04E can be built to easily handle 20 psi if that ever happens. The hybrid combination is much more versatile for this application also.

My suggestion - T3/T04E .48 Stg II/.50 compressor - good for 8-10 psi efficiently. Anything higher you'll want a Stg V and .55 or slightly larger.

Good luck,
-Chris

It is more what you want the car for, having done and used both turbos along with others, it definately comes down to what the car is going to be used for - more daily and fun cruising boost , track only (huuge turbo w/ nos), etc...

there are advantages to using a t04 , if setup properly 10psi t3/t4 vs 10psi the straight t04 should see somewhat higher #'s on a dyno, but also coming in much later. (assuming similar spec'd turbos and same pipe design)

the suggestion you give, needs to be prefixed with why... imo that is too small even if you want a very fast spooling fun turbo on the vq30.. i would go more for a .63 stage III or V paired to a T04 H-3 trim. seems to be a good combo, spools early and has good topend... a t3 stage III is an incredible turbo too... spools around 3000-3200rpm and is verry strong.

feel free to email me if i can help with anything, i will be out for a few days though.. prob. till the weekend? (22nd?) i'll get back to ya

You say a t3/t04 is too small? im confused, don't you have one? When you were saying a . 60 trim is good did you mean a T3/60-1 is better?
