oil inlet/oulet question

does it matter if I have the inlet at the bottom and outlet on top because of the way the turbo is placed??
because oil is being pumped in the inlet so wouldnt some pressure force it out the outlet as long as I run a line downwards towards the oil pan so that gravity takes place after??
