Vaccum and idle question

What should be the vacuum reading while in Drive on an automatic.


I have 19 in Hg in park/ neutral, but 15 in Hg while in Drive...

That sounds about right I'm about to hop in my car to get a bite to eat, so I'll repost if I notice anything different from what you just said.

Good for you.

I've never been able to get over 15Hg at idle, and 13 in D. I spent $200 and many, many, many hours trying to find a leak..never did.

it also depends on how long your vaccum line is.

No. The length of line will effect how long it takes to evacuate the line, but eventually it will reach the same vacuum level as a short line.

I get 17 in HG in park/neutral but 20 in Hg while in Drive.
