Redline oil 10w 30 or 10w40
10w30 is what I run year round so far, I may switch to 10x40 if I go to the track this summer. The RL 30 is as good as a dyno 40. I run the 10w30 for 6k with a 3 k filter change, oil tests are just fine so far.
Hmm whatever weights you guys chose to run, try to keep the viscosity ranges to a mininum. The larger the change, the more additives the maker has to put in to make the oil act like a ie... 5w when cold and 40 weight when warm etc... Which means as those additives wear out, the oil is not acting like a 5w anymore(or vice versa).
Isn't 5w30 what the book tells you to use? I can't remember, but I'm almost 50% sure... anyways you're fine using 5w30 don't worry
As long as the oil hasn't broken down that is - so just be good and treat your car to an oil change!
