Question regarding vacuum fitting on intake pipe

On the intake pipe, there is a small 1/8" vacuum fitting. We just finished Jason Sadler's turbo, and on his piping, as of right now, we do not have that fitting welded in. Very hard to find 1/8" tubing. What I'm wondering is if it is absolutely necessary to put that fitting there, or can we just run the vacuum line to another vacuum source.

yes kirk, that is the correct line we are talking about... I didn't have any steel tubing that size I could weld in, so I tapped one of the T'd vacumm lines, I think it was the wastegate line.

check my other post, car threw a couple codes when driving, wonder if this has anything to do with it?
