Homemade octane booster

Anybody here made their own? Can toluene or xylene do any harm to o2 sensors?

Info

"It just comes down to percentages. You guys seem to be happy running 30% toluene (ie three litres of it for every seven litres of unleaded), but I have been told that 10-20% is the highest you should go as the Toluene can have a corrosive effect on parts of your fuel system over time. I guess it depends how many miles and stuff you do as well though.

10% = 1 litres toluene for each nine litres of pump fuel
20% = 2 litres toluene for eight litres of pump fuel
30% = 3 litres toluene for each seven litres of pump fuel "

Here is what the ratio's are ..

"I just put 10 litres of Toluene, 25litres of 98octane (RON) and 2 decilitres of ATF oil or 2-stroke oil.

Works like a charm "

Here are some threads from over there

Check this site out:
http://www.vtr.org/maintain/gasoline-octane.html

Honestly, any of these solutions are corrosive and WILL slowly degrade any rubber or plastic and eventually metal parts it comes in contact with. I've seen M85(methanol) do some serious damage over time.

That's why I prefer the Aquamist WI setup. That way you don't have exposure UNTIL you're using it say above 6psi vs. sitting in your gas tank/lines/rail/etc. for long periods of time. PLUS you get the intercooling effect. For $420 shipped, you can run a practically FREE alcohol and water mix to get both a cooler intake charge AND a higher effective octane rating.
