3.125" pully. Impression and problems

Last weekend I installed a 3.125" pully. I didn't get to really push the car until last night, because I don't get on highway or open roads that often.

Low RPM boost is a whole lot better than with the 3.33" pully. WOT to the redline is awsome. Out of the corner of my eye I caught 11psi on the boost guage. Woo hoo!

Now my problem, I should be using a 703 belt (according to you guys here). I went to autozone the morning I was going to install the pully to get one (nothing like the last minute). Well, they didn't have any...as a matter of fact the closest they had was 695 and 705. I had a 705 on the car for the 3.33", so I figured being off my 2mm shouldn't cause a problem. I think I thought wrong. Its tough to get enough tension with this setup, and I run out of tensioner and I had the belt hop off by a rib.

I may have to take the blower off again and change the belt, which would suck. 703 seems like an odd size, can I just put a 700 on with this pully?

This weekend I'm putting in 370cc injectors, 3:1 FMU disc and trying to hit the track Sunday.

So you had enough tension to develop 11 psi? That makes me think you have enough tension but you have an alignment issue. Is the pulley on all the way?

Pully is on just fine.

I thought the same thing, but alignment seems fine. Even when I've intentionally left belts loose, I've never had one slip on me. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe its the type of belt (gatorback), but they just haven't slipped.

I had this happen with my first belt on the 3.6" pully (because I didn't tension it properly), and it lived a long and happy life with 5 ribs, so hopefully this one too.
