Fuel Pump Reg (NISMO vs Stock)

To go with a Walbro Fuel Pump ungrade I am trying to determine if a new OEM Fuel Regulator from Courtesy will work well or should I go with a NISMO adjustable FPR that Courtesy also has.

Problem is that the "email salesman" at Courtesy is not sure if their NISMO adjustable FPR will fit / work on a 1996 Maxima.

Any sugestions?

Thanks!

Well, that depends, what are you running, or planning to run? It really depends on application.

are you going to get the high or low pressure pump

low presure = stock regulator

high pressure = ajustable regulator

The Walbro Fuel Pump is High Pressure.

My local speed shop said today I should try to get an adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Problem is that Couresy does not know which of their adjustable NISMO FPR will best fit my car.

I am running a Vortech SC, FMU, Aux fuel pump (Stillen Kit).

hmm, now you say that, you might want to consider a maybe cartech FMU, or a Vortech S-FMU? They will do the job you need under boost. I can tell you the cartech helps out for tuning. I've heard the Vortech S-FMU does pretty well too, but since I really haven't work with them, I can't really comment on them. Basically, the question is, what are you trying to do? You planning more boost, nitrous or something? I mean, it's hard to tell what will work unless we know what your trying to shoot for.

Courtesy lists a NISMO Z32 (1990 - 1996 300zx) Adjustable FPR.
CODE 22670-ADJPR

Anyone have any experience with using a 300 ZX FPR on a Maxima. I would guess that there is no problem do to common use of 300 ZX Injectors, Spark Plugs, Coil Packs etc.

Suggestions?

UPDATE:
I have ordered the NISMO AFP Regulator from Courtesy Nissan in Texas. This will combine with the Walbro GSS342 Fuel Pump and new fuel filter.

When all is set-up I will post results as a FYI. Probably around mid January.

I am also currently running a BELL Engineering FMU and the Stillen Kit AUX fuel pump.

The purpose for this exercise is that my current stock fuel pump and regulator have 102,000 miles on them, so this is an upgrade and preventitive maintenance.

UPDATE: The Walbro FP is installed. Turns-out that the ebay seller sent me a GSS341 & not a GSS 342 as promised.

The GS341 seems to be the same as the GSS342 except for various application kits. Bottom line is the GSS 341 also works.

The Courtesy Z32 Adjustable FPR will not fit the Maxima. I am running the stock FPR with a BELL FMU. My idel FP is about 40-41. The FMU was left at prior settings. So for the car runs well.

This whole exercise was preventive maintenance as I have 103000 miles on the Max.
