Supercharged/Turbocharged The increase in air/fuel pressure above atmospheric pressure in the intake system caused by the action of a supercharger or turbocharger attached to an engine.

370cc Injectors with A32 MAF

As you may or may not know, Stephen Max has found out that with the 300zx 370cc injectors and with the use of the Z32 MAF sensor (300zx MAF), you do not need an fmu. The only side affects was some slight detonation in the upper RPMs, that of which we think is timing based.

Now, my real question is: Is it possible to just use the A32 MAF (Maxima MAF) with the 370cc injectors and no FMU?

Just pondering on some of this before I start to fork out some more money I don't have lol. Thanks all.......

We've talked a lot about this, too. The answer is yes, but you will have to lower the base fuel pressure to about 26-27 psi at idle in order not to run too rich.

Lower fuel pressure means less fuel delivered when boosting without an fmu, so the max horsepower you will be able to develop with the 370 cc/min injectors will be less than if you had an fmu. Using the stock fpr without an fmu limits you to a rise rate of 1 psi of fuel pressure for 1 psi of boost pressure.

You can use the power calculator in the RC Engineering website to figure out how much power you can develop.

or i think you can just send you ecu to jwt for reprograming but that expensive.

why not just get a used Z32 MAF for around $100

Right, I understand all of that. So, if I were to still get the injectors with the Z32 MAF, lower my base FP to around 26-28ish, I can do that with no problems safely? I already have the Vortech S-FMU, but I wanted to upgrade the injectors as well, and do the best possible setup.

or to be safe why not run the smallest size disk on a regular FMU 3:1 and fine tune it with SAFC. Would that not add extra protection for upper RPMS?

please corect me if im wrong but as i understand it you dont lower base FP with both the Z32 MAF and injectors, you only lower base FP when running Z32 injectors and stock MAF

When I get both, I will watch the EGTs and let you all know. But, Stephen Max probably already knows this all.

this is from his last post when he first ran the 370/Z32MAF...

Edit: I should have said this was done with normal 34 psi base fuel pressure, rising to a maximum 43 psi.
