You may have tightened the belt tooo tight. you should be able to twist the belt 90 degrees./

I recommend Goodyear Gatorback belts. They hold up really well. 4060710 would be the gatorback part # you'd need.

Go to autozone to get this belt, they are the ones that carry the gatorback.

I used to tension the belt to ~100 degree instead of 90. It is a bit loose but I have no problem with it. I am affraid too much tension will damage the seal inside the blower and cause oil leak.

I use Gate's belt.

Your AC pulley should be free spinning when the car is off... if it is very resistant to turning... your AC compressor/EM clutch may be bad.

I'd also check your tensioner pulley and S/C bracket idler pulley as well. One of those could be close to seizing. When your belt snaps, how does it look? Does it come out frayed or not? As for the A/C pulley, that should be free to turn when the A/C clutch is disengaged. If it's engaged, it's gonna be pretty damn tight to turn.

the v2 kit is brand new out the box.. but your right one could still be bad.. i havent had a chance to examine it yet .. tonite i will take it apart. the pulley on the s/c, is the raised lip suppose to be toward the inside or outside.. i would hate to take that thing out twice.. also how how far in should i screw in the pulley.. this will be my first time alone working on it.. its stuck at my house...

Well you should only need to tighten the pulley just beyond hand tight, (besides, the bolt will not move far beyond hand tight as it is). If I remember right, the nose part of the pulley that goes over the S/C shaft should be facing the S/C bracket and engine.

G-Forces are fun....I got a ride in Ian's car once we got it back on the road, and it cured my dry spell of boost. :P I have the whole thing worked out....if I wanna cruise...I drive my car....I want to go fast and boost, I go riding in Ian's car. Works great!

thanks everyone ..the changing part was a success... autozone had the belt in stock.. also i talked to stillen and they said as long as the belt is a quality grade and right size , and you align it properly they all should give trouble free service so the brand i pick is my option... the belt was a perfect fit.. the problem is that butch wont stay on..
