Custom 3 inch Resonator

Ok.. Just got my 3 inch custom resonator from warpspeed. The thing is 3 inch in diameter, 22 inches in length, and SS. Cost me $62 with shipping.. The unit looks good.. Very solid.

However , when viewing the inside of the resonator, I'm not sure which direction the unit should be mounted.. If you were to look on the inside, you see smooth mettle bulges thought the length of the inner tube. But if you were to look from the opposing side, every buldge have cresent shape pockets.

Do you orientate the unit with the smooth bulges facing the flow of the exhaust? Or do you switch it, where the cresent shape pockets face the exhaust flow?

I'm assuming the cresent pockets face the exhaust flow??? But I may be wrong... I don't have my digital camera, otherwise I would post pics..

Thanks.

Well I was doing some research.. The type of 3 inch resonator has a "Louvered Core".. On one side you have a spiral baffled metal layer and on the opposite side, there are vented inlets which helps noise reduction.. However, this old school resontor is not efficient as the preferated models. The lovered units a more restrictive. The perferated one are less..

Here's the link from nissanperformancemag..
