problem with supercharger

im installing a sueprcharger on my brothers car, its a 2000 se and a used v2 blower...
i've been having a few problems, the first is how tight should the belt be? becuase ive been tightening it more and more, but it keeps coming off... second problem, the idle isnt stable, it goes from 1200 to above 2000 then drops down... the third problem, the fuel pump, which terminal is positive and which terminal is negative, couldnt see anything but the fuel flow arrow on it...

The fuel pump should be a switch I believe - so which terminal is which shouldn't matter since 12v goes through it either way.

The belt is probably getting loose because someone didn't put the alternator bolt back in properly and the alternator is swiveling. Loosen the belt, grab the bottom of the alternator standing in front of the car and pull up - if it moves, there's your problem.

If thatg is solid, then make sure that you tightened and seated the stock idler pulley properly.

That's also maybe the problem with the idle - the belt is slipping and the SC is catching/releasing the belt....not sure on that however.

Where does the belt come off and to which direction? I'm guessing at the idler pulley...?

Sounds like the alternator bolt iansw was talking about could be the culprit, is that one on and tight?

Did you loosen the belt first?

Have you checked your idler pulley?
