Maximum boost level

on a 9:1 compression motor with a good tune of 11.5 af what do you guys think the maximum amount of boost that can be run is before something breaks?

Any ideas to help increase the boost are welcome.

From the book "turbocharging" it states that when you run 15lbs of boost it theroeticly double's your cubic inch. (or forces twice the amount of air) than would be at atmospheric pressure. At that level is says that your only putting 25% more load on bottom end parts.
9-1 is a fine compression ratio for boost especialy with allum. heads. Forged pistons melt at the same tempature as cast pistons. The key to any boosted or nitrous engine is not to detonate. The tune is critical and will make the difference between Power and Picking up parts.

i've heard of guys running 50 psi on 12:1 compression.... its all in the tuning. just like Scott said, keep it from detonating and you should be pretty good for a while.

The DET parts are no stronger than DE, they are just lower CR. I'd have to say youll surpase the 590cc injector before you blow it if its tuned properly.

I just wish the max was rear wheel drive. the engine can make some incredible power, but it is still a front wheel drive car.

I was thinking old school 200sx. It came with the VG so the Vq would be equal in size but less weight. I might do it with a VQ30Det but I can't find one cheap.

sorry I know this is off-topic. I found a 200sx but older than I wanted 1980 one. The only RWD tranny that will bolt up to the VQ30DET is the 350z one correct?

I was letting mine go for 450 each with 4K miles on them. If you look around you can get them for even less.

yeah, it seems a lot of people have been having difficulty shifting after a few thousand miles or so.
