Thinking of going Supercharged

I have a '99 Maxima. Is there an ECU upgrade that I need?
Thanks.

no, they dont even have 99 ecu upgrades. Technosquare is about to have one once they find a max to test on but as of now, there are no upgrades but i believe 99 supercharger setup is different from the other 4th gens. There was a small fuss about that some time ago.

Yea I know that the '99's don't have an ECU upgrade as of the moment, but I know that it uses a piggyback for turbos but I forgot the name of it. So it will work?
Thanks.

What did you have to do to fit V1 on a 99'.

V1 was what came with the stillen kit awhile back before they introducded the v2. The set-up you really want is the V1 bracket with the V2 supercharger. teh V1 Bracket is steel while the v2 is aluminium, and the V2 supercharger is more efficient, and quieter if you want to be more of a sleeper.

If you are looking to buy a new kit from stillen it is going to be a v2. Like my bro said those are the differences plus you cant get a v1 from stillen any more.

Why is V1 bracket better then the V2? Who on the org has that set up, few people if I remember correctly, V1 bracket with a V2 S/C.

the V2 bracket is made of steel, i think, and the V2 bracket has one more idler pulley on it

Like VQ30DES said a few posts back, the V1 bracket is steel and the V2 bracket is aluminum. Steel is better because it is stiffer, although an aluminum bracket can be made as stiff as a steel bracket by making it thicker, or in this case by using stiffening webs. But steel is also better because it has a much lower coefficient of thermal expansion, so it is much more dimensionally stable under varying temperature conditions, i.e. a steel bracket won't warp as much as an aluminum bracket when heated up.
