3.5L custom turbo automatic questions

Hi. I am about to buy a custom turbo kit off of pimpjuice's 2002 maxima 6-spd. Do any of you guys know what I have to modify in order for the kit to fit my automatic? Is it the IC piping, downpipe, etc.? I just know that the transmission casings have a slightly different size and shape. Thanks in advance.

I would think most of the piping from the exhaust to the turbo(depending on where it is placed) due to the fact that the auto tranny is bigger than the manual. I even had to modify my filter placement on my 2000 auto when putting the supercharger on because of the tranny.

I think you should think about getting the VB done, so your tranny lasts...

Stiffer Motor mounts to reduce wheel hop...

Intercooler...

Fuel Pressure Regulator so the Walbro doesn't over-do the fuel pressure...

I believe pimp was also using the Greddy e-Manage... so you may want to think about getting that... if you get the Greddy Profec e-01 also, you can use it as a boost controller...

Bigger Injectors...

Gauges - Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure...

Wideband O2 and/or lots of dyno time...

Technosquare ECU re-flash...

and on and on and on...

Maybe a J&S Knock Sensor...

I'll remember that. I'm getting the transmission cooler this weekend and also getting the valvebody mod next week from Mobiltek. Have you guys had any experiences, good or bad, with them?

In the past there have been long delays with Mobiltek. Most people seem to go with Maximum Tuning for VB. Like everyone said you will prolly need to redo the feed piping and downpipe and more than likely at least a little of the IC piping. You can buy some piping from Jegs, etc and fab that up. As far as engine management a Greddy Emanage or similar would be good, especially if combined with a wideband O2 sensor (FJO, etc). Also, along with the tranny cooler, I would suggest a tranny temp gauge.

E-Manage will also advance timing (as well as pull timing).

Actually, i don't think anyone's gotten the e-manage to successfully advance timing...

There's been some talk about people trying and they've heard the engine change sound... but this has been attributed to the e-manage "confusing" the ecu...

I have advanced the timing 2 degrees while in vacuum.

I can try to put up the graphs of the obd scan tool if necessary.
