blow off valve

Whats up guys. I have a question and was wondering if it is possible to put a blow off valve on a regular max with out a turbo or sc. I really like the sound it makes but i dont have the $ to throw down on a turbo or sc. Any way this could be done or anything that matches its sound. Thanks a lot guys..

I don't think you're going to find the answer you're looking for here... and no it wouldn't work anyways.

for it to make the sound the pipes have to be pressurized from the compressor. when you lift the throttle and close the butterflies this causes vacuum inside the intake manifold. this vacuum opens the blow off valve allowing the pressurized air in the pipes to escape quickly so no damage is done to the compressor wheel due to the air not being able to go anywhere.

so, in short, you can put a bov on a n/a car but it will not make the sound as no pressurized air would go through it. it will actually cause problems if anything as it would let in unmetered air causing the car to run lean. if you want the sound there are tons of things on ebay to give you the turbo sound as well as electronic blow off valve noise makers.

The bigger the turbo, the more air it can move, the longer the lag generally.......all depends on engine size, ball bearing, blah blah blah.

To answer your question it should make the car faster just longer lag.
