i guess im going on motor #2

well i had a race set up with a z28 interceptor this weekend so i decided to get tuned for 10psi. well, lets just say it didnt work out. i wasnt even near to making the same power i did last month at the same 8psi. then i was getting a nasty chattering sound from the rear head only when i hit 5000 rpm under load. it doesnt make that chattering noise at idle. according to the techs that were looking at my dyno graph. they said it cant be a warped head because the power would dive severely, which it wasnt. what could this be??
bent valves? but wouldnt it make a a constant noise?

the car drives fine now im at 5psi and im not beating on it till the other motor i have is put together to my specs.

Detonation, maybe? What's your afr look like when it does that? What is your fuel pressure at 5000 rpm and how much correction are you dialing in with the safc?

a fat 11.3 afr
80 ish psi of fuel
it didnt sound anything like detontation
