Map sensor questions
I just went to the auto shop and the guy there told me that there was a code in my cpu for my MAP sensor!! Is there some kind of upgraded or aftermarket MAP sensor that I can buy that will run better with my S/C?? My car has a production date of 11/99 if that matters and I have the the V2 s/c with an automagic, and a levelten tranny.
Thanks

yeah, there is some sort of MAP sensor on the VQ..I think its MAP/BARO or something....I've pulled that code countless times on Redmax's car. but I seriusly doubt it has any involvement in A/F ratio, so an "upgrade" would be pointless. the VQ ECU is 100% MAF driven.

if I can remember(which I usually can't ) it was buried in the mess of wires and sensors near the driver side of the front valve cover...but I can't remember for sure and no FSM in front of me right now to check

MAP or Absolute Pressure Sensor (i think the same things) is on the driver side to the right of the valve cover. Originally its supposed to be bolted on some piece of metal where it sits to the right of the valve cover but in my car and many others, you can see it just lugging around by the wires. I had a code for it (0803) and i replaced mine and code went away. If your CEL comes on and u do your own check and get 0803, its most likely that sensor, its like a small rectanle box. Has a harness hook up on one side and i think 1 or 2 hoses hook up on other side.
