Noticed something strange

I know this is not related to this forum but you guys are the only ones i who i trust to answer my question correctly. When playing around with my rsm thsi afternoon i was holding the throttle steady at 3k rpm when all of a sudden i noticed a very slight vibration started occuring. But the weird thing is this did not occur above or below 3k rpm. At first i thought it might be attributed to the fact that i have my exhaust piping mounted sort of tight which causes a slight vibration in the car. After thinking about it some more i am now starting to doubt that idea. Any thoughts on what it may be?

could be a slight miss in your blower, possibly the bearings a little warn causing a very slight vibration. How many miles on your blower ??

Your exhaust could be it though

An engine speed of 3000 rpm may provide the excitation frequency to drive a resonance of some component of your car. I've got the same thing happening. The vibrating component is hard to find because it is excited over a very narrow rpm range - must be very underdamped.

i doubt its my blower since it only has about 30,000 miles on it. I bought it from Jay25 and I trust that he would not lie to me about the mileage on it.

I have a vibration at 2500, but Ive had it before the blower went in. I think its the y-pipe not tyde into the stock braket on the bottom of the car causing an ever so slight vibration

Yeah i think it is probably the exhaust. Either way i'm at the point where if something breaks i'm just gonna say f### it because i am just sick of worrying about the car. That just means i just get to upgrade.

I think it is your car telling you it needs to be faster.

Probably, she's been pretty fiesty lately. This cold weather is f###'n awesome. My car feels like it has no lagg whatsoever and when i punch it the car immediatley takes off. I am thinking the intercooler is going to be a deffinite in the next month. Either that or i am moving to alaska .

Spig you wanna come over sometime during the break and help me mock up the piping?

Sure just give me a call. I leave to go out of town tomorrow for about a week but anytime after that when I am not working will be fine. I have nation wide so I will answer the phone or call you back.

There are quite a few things I want to do to my car too. It NEEDS a good polishing and waxing. I also want tint, home made ploy motor mounts, and frosty ordered me some of the ES bushings. But unfortunately I have to work a lot to afford all of that and some new rims and tires.

You may also want to look at this thread if you haven't already. We don't get nearly the cold weather they get up north do but it is still something to recognize. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=364111
