wastegate dilemma

I think my wastegate has taken a crap. Spring is @ 7 psi, I had boost set at 16.5 psi - but lately it's only been getting up to 10.5 which sucks. I unhooked the solenoid and it boosted up to 10 lbs - at which time i let off. Clearly, the spring in the wastegate isn't doing its job from what I can tell. Any pointers as to what I can do to remedy the situation? If nothing else, it's still under warrenty through Tial so i'd just get a new one, but i'd rather not have the downtime.

i would take it apart and make sure the spring is still seated probperly

also where is the wastegate getting its boost signal from that could also effect its function

it gets it directly from the compressor housing. I could get exactly 7 psi when the setup was first installed.

i'd make sure there are no leaks in the hose. also, for a more accurate setup i'd hook the wastegate line up to the manifold because you are measuring boost in the manifold so to make sure the wastegate gets the same reading, i'd hook it up there.

not necessary of course, but that would seem to be the most logical way to set it up. if there aren't any leaks in the hose as it is, i'd say there is something wrong with the wastegate itself as you're thinking.
