Labor hours for Boost & EGT Gauges?

I am having my boost and EGT gauges put in on monday, and I'm wondering how many hours it SHOULD take the shop? This is assuming nothing goes terribly wrong.

You should put your boost gauge in, very easy just run the vaccum line from the inside of your car to the engine bay and get a vaccum source...

and for the EGT, run the wires to the engine bay and go to Mineiki and have them weld in your bung for you ($30-$40)

running the light source for each is easy since your doing two...Run two wires from your cig lighter, one + one -, and when you get to your gauge branch off to the two of them...you got your light

If you can install a stereo you can wire up gauges.

The shop told me it would take between 2 and 3 hours. I dont know anyone around here that can help me but that would be nice. I get the light hook up part, but I dont know much about finding a vacuum source.

thats easy. look at your engine bay. to the left of the intake manifold there is a thing that looks like a big bronze button. that is your fuel pressure regulator. there is a small hose that comes off of it and that is the vacuum source.

do you already have a s/c kit in?

It would be just as easy to pull the power from the dimmer switch for the headlights and than ground it where ever. That way the gauge lights turn on when you turn on your headlights.

I think most of us guys have installed the boost and EGT gauges ourselves. I had to have the bung for the EGT probe put in by a muffler shop when I got my Budget Y pipe.

Idealy it's supposed to be within 3" of the exhaust, but welding on the stock headers isn't going to be easy. see what some shops can do, and if the closest you can get is the y-pipe, that's great.

Do you mean 3 inches away from the muffler or the exhaust manifolds?
