I got a vg 3.0 with a 9:1 ratio.im wondering what kind of spool time I would see with this charger. I get full boost now at 2700 to 3000 rpms. And would this make more power at the same boost level that im at now. Oh yeah by the way im running a stock CT26 from a supra.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

i would read this before buying a turbo form them

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1097918

back to weather it would work or not im gonna say NO!

1.05 A/R TURBINE HOUSING
GREAT FOR RAPID SPOOL!

rapid spool MY A$$ maybe on a big block

you need to look for some thing with a MAX of .81 A/R on the hot side preferably smaller if you want good street manners

i would look into this one it would suit your car almost perfectly and i would estimate full boost between 3.5 and 4k and it would leave the CT26 in the dust plus its a genuin garret turbo and not a nockoff that could literally fall apart

on top of the turbine being way to big, the compressor is actually a bit large for the VG engines. if i remember correctly it would surge quite a bit on our engines. ve/vq might handle it pretty well though...

I'm glad I found this Honda-Tech thread! I was seriously thinking about buying their turbo! I didn't realize it was so cheap. What other brands can I look into that have proven to be great? Turbonetics? I know Garrett is the best. But are their cheaper alternatives that won't crack apart like this? lol

I have pretty much made up my mind on a smaller type turbo so i can easily make boost out of the hole with a 3000 rpm stall. I am leaning towards a .63 A/R t3 with a t04e .60 or .50 A/R with a 50 to 60 trim. I figured a 50 trim will spool nicely, but I don't know if I will lose power on the top end of each gear. But I figured that it would be easy to change turbos in the future after I have some time to mess around with a cheap ebay one.

Several IS300 folks are running masterpower turbos... Turbonetics is ok, not my personal fav.

I did a little quick searching and it seems that Masterpower is in the same boat as XS Turbos. Do you have any thoughts on this?

What turbos have you personally had experience with? Thoughts?

Little something I found when searching for masterpower turbo: http://www.redz31.com/pages/turboupgrade.html

Turbonetics is the only brand I have owned, I have 2 of them. My next one WILL be a garrett.

Good info there as well.

i would read this it should clear up the masterpower debate

http://www.turbomustangs.com/forums/...ht=masterpower

"As long as you stay away from the ebay dealers, which some of them have been known to use Master Power housings with cheaper internals that will prematurely fail 99% of the time you'll be alright."

if you search masterpower on there site there are lots of people that have had great sucses with them
