Anything can work with the right amount of money and custom fabrication.

I've seen the Rotrex in action on a Lexus IS300. It was part of the Toyomoto kit w/ FMIC and about 10k invested including a Haltech. Pushing 11psi it managed all of 280whp through the auto. He was running a 2JZ-GTE bottom end so the lower compression hurt him a bit. He said it managed 360+ at the wheels w/ the original bottom end but grenaded on the dyno. I made 301 that day on Shadow's car w/ 7psi.

It's greatest advantage is its separate oil system and the fact that the compressor is straight off a turbocharger so it can manage double the impeller speeds of a Vortech.

I'd probably end my own life if I spent $10k for Haltech and an SC and only made 280whp.

Last I heard they got it up to 313 but the lowered compression wouldn't allow it to get any higher and the blower spins at 113,000 rpm at that boost level so there's little room for upgrading other than possibly trying to adapt new compressors. I think the cost would have been even more if you counted the blown motor but he said Toyomoto covered the replacement since they were prototyping it. It is a beautiful kit though...very clean install and discrete.

Here's the link to the kit and the car it was on:

That and Lexus seems to have semi weak auto transmissions. Just about every FI Lexus I've seen at the dyno shop has been in there for tranny upgrades or repairs.

The turbo ones are definitely beasts though. There was a turbo SC300 at Batlground yesterday for a tranny rebuild. It's completely stock outside down to the factory 16's but at the last dyno day it put down 450whp to my 280whp.

I have a spare Rotrex SP30 and a spare 2003 GXE (got it for my father but he doesn't drive it anymore).... and I've coincidentally thought of this already.

I called local HKS shops over the weeks and asked if I could get the piping, and I've been refused thus far.. I'm not currently disposed to get it done myself as I don't have the time to tinker with measurements and whatnot.

If anyone here knows an HKS retailer that would be willing to sell me the piping alone... I'm all ears My 2000 has passed the 100k supercharged barrier already so maybe it's time to boost another maxipad. I don't mind spending the odd hour or two here and there on days that I have the time... I only drive the 2k3 when I feel like giving my V2 a break in the cold.

The HKS kit for the 350Z/G35 is pretty weak compared to the other FI options available, especially for the cost.

That IS makes~390whp on pump.. he changed to a bigger blower.
