Bwhahahaah...training them young, huh Mardi.

So you had to remove the piston squirters for the machine shop and you just reinstalled them?

Also, whose pistons are you running? If Arias, are these the newer ones with the piston squirter clearance notches?

Exactly, just remove and reinstall. I am running CP pistons from SGP.

VQ's have piston squirters? I only knew of the VG30DET's. Wow. Can't wait to see the finished project. What are your plans for the rest of the engine?

Edit: Nevermind, I just read your page.

they are 8:5:1 pistons, but using the VQ30 heads it brings the compression up to about 9:4:1 IIRC...

Per his updated website...

"The CP pistons are designed to give 8.5:1 CR with the larger volume VQ35 cylinder head combustion chambers. Since I am using the VQ30 heads with a smaller combustion chamber volume the CR will be ~9.4:1. This should be just fine and make for great throttle response."

did you get the pistons that were fixed. They had to machine some away because they were hitting the piston squiters.

Mardi call the piston manuacture and they will fix your pistons. Or you can do it at a machine shop.

I talked to Kyle about the CP pistons, I may call CP myself and see... Kyle said I need to measure clearance. Mine have notches but I'm not sure if its enough.
