interesting find... (JWT and MAF's)

i have noticed an overall lack of power out of my car lately. my blower has been humming leading me to believe i need a rebuild or a t-trim sometime in the near future. i have also been getting a weird noise in the top end at WOT.

well i was tinkering around with things and i switched my Z32 MAF out for the stock A32 MAF. i pulled the Z32/370cc e-prom out and put back in my A32/370cc e-prom (oooops forgot to send it back )

all i can say is....WOAH. car feels like a bull again. responsiveness, torque and power at all rpms is back in a major way. wound it up to redline at WOT and it pulls to redline without much of a hitch. noise seems to be gone (cant say for sure because i have an exhaust rattle and leak after changing motors and a lot of noises are being heard at 7k, WOT) but with the Z32 MAF in there i could hear it above the exhaust problems. now with the A32 back in, no engine noises that i can hear.

this strikes me as very weird. maybe the JWT tune for the Z32 MAF is not as potent as the A32 tune. just thought i would share, any input as to why or how this would affect the car is appreciated!

Interesting find there Paul. Sounds like you need to get your car dynoed along with the rest of us to see what the A/F ratio is looking like. At least the car is feeling better now.

My problem is horrible horrible idle and hard hesitation at midrange RPM on cold starts - resulting in moderately bad idle and very occasional slight hesitation when warmed up....

Not quite the same as this.

Although when warmed up, the Z32 MAF feels stronger to me vs the A32 Setup.

Especially top end - because I'm nto leaning out and losing power....feels like night/day.

Might just be the timing difference. Was the e-prom you took out in there correctly, I know my brother's was not in very secure and it caused issues. When he fixed it he said the car just pulled better at every point.

Im contimplating sending my Z32 e-prom back and getting the A32 back on the ECU and not changing to the Z32 MAF..

What do you guys think ?? I thought it was benifitial to have the Z32 MAF with the setup but after talking to paul, IDK

matt, i dont want to discourage you from getting the Z32 setup because the potential is much higher. when i pulled the e-prom it was definately secure. i was too thinking that the timing could maybe not be as aggressive, but ian is reporting that it feels better once warmed. so i am not sure what to think.

i would definately like to have the headroom the Z32 offers for packing some more power, cause basically i am maxed out on the A32. i need to fix my exhaust so its much clearer.

One of you guys needs to send me either eprom so I can read it and start showing you how to fix the problems with the chip. At the very least we could get some insight into what is going on.
