How common are these alignment issues? I'll be installing my SC next week, and it would be nice to know what to look for now and possibly fix the alignment issue right off the bat.(if I have one)
Or, does the alignment issue happen over time, and I'll have to wait and see?
Thanks.

Its very common for the V2 system. I found shims on my blower when I did my first pulley swap from a 3.6" to a 3.33". Seems that the shop that installed my blower saw what was happening and added shims in to correct the belt alignment.

My brother has a v2 and never seen a problem. It still has the same belt since we put it on a year ago!
My v1 must not like to eat belts cause , well it never has. I have run my sc with only the 2 big bolts with no probs. Got lucky? I know I cant put my bracket on without the blower. It just doesn't want to match up the bolts. Seems like bolting the blower on the bracket causes it to flex or bend straight.
I have cracked every mounting post on the bracket thats the blower bolts go into. Had them welded and have been holding fine for 2 years.

Does the belt shift positions towards the body of the car and away from the engine block? If so, then you have to add some washer shims.

First time I put my shims back on I loaded them on three uppermost posts. Found out very shortly that the belt wasn't happy and jumped a rib. I evenly distributed the three washer shims the second time around and my belt was happy.
