Need Some input, I think I got ripped off...
I finally got my car back from my dumbass mechanic shop, I was getting the EGT and Boost gauges installed. The problem is that they charged me for 5 hours of labor, $441 to be exact. The guy told me when I was getting my suspension put on a few weeks ago that the gauges should take a little more than 2 hours. I suspected them of over-charging me before(6 hours for suspension install ), but figured I'd give them one last chance. So what I am wondering is if I really got ripped off, because I think I did? This is supposed to be a great shop, they do work on porsche's and ferrari's. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

It seems like you did overpay. But, did you get an estimate from them before the work? Or did you just go by what they told you? FWIW, I got my EGT, boost, fuel pressure, and A/F gauges installed and working in under 3 hours. That included removing my turbo feed piping to tap the EGT probe.

holy crap 441 to install 2 gauges i could have bought a bada$$ wideband for that
in my opinion if you dont learn how to do this kind of basic stuff you shouldnt be moding a car because your going to get ripped in the BUTTT like this

They drilled and put the EGT into the y-pipe. I just dont see what could possibly take that long to run some damn wires through the car. Like I said before, I was in there a few weeks ago and was supposed to be getting the suspension AND the gauges put in. When I dropped by during the day I asked the guy "how long are you figuring for the two installs, about 4 hours for the suspension and 2 for the gauges?" He replied "a little more for the suspension, a little less for the gauges." Then I get my bill today and it says 5 hours. I am furious!!! Whats the best way to learn how to do this "basic" stuff?

Learning this just takes doing it. Just grab yourself a drill and a nut that fits onto the probe. Drill a proper size hole in the desired location and weld the nut on. If you don't have a welder that is totally understandable. That is the point that you bring it to an exhaust shop and have them weld it on for $5-15.

ok man, seriously the first mistake you made. taking your NISSAN to a guy that fixes ferrari's . simply put, if you own a ferrari you get raped everytime you take your car in, 6hrs labor for your suspension is way WAY to much and 5hrs for 2 guage's . WTF?didn't he tell you about 2hrs the first time you asked? they tacked on three hours so that the tech who installed it could take his girl to lunch and organize his tools on your time..... wow man you where had, stories like this make me sad. do a little research and find out from fellow .orgers in your area who is good and HONEST mechanic to take your car to...
i hope you don't get ripped again, and the bad part is don't try to ask for a refund because tha guy has already forgotten your name......
