Preventing detonation

I have been thinking lately and i am not sure that my plan of using water injection will be enough of a defense against detonation when using the 2.87. The summer tempratures down here are extremely hot so i am starting to get nervous. Am i just being overly percautious or would 12 psi warrant J&S? Could i just tune alittle on the rich side to help prevent detonation?

Since i have emanage i could use the ignition harness but i cant remember if anyone with a 5th gen got it working correctly?

12psi + water injection should be plenty defence and you wont need to tune rich just around 12:1

just make sure you dont run out of water

Just pull timing with the eManage timing harness...you just need to make sure you have the latest 1.39 Firmware update and probably still use the diodes. J&S is superior, since it can retard on demand. However, the J&S is $500+ vs. $35 for the timing harness. Most people with the eManage are just overly aggressive with the retard amount for worst case possibilities. This method sacrifices power, however it's up to you whether or not the cost difference is warranted.

Alcohol/Water injection is awesome stuff.

make sure you wire a low level light for your water tank.
