Built VQ35 Progress!
Great run, cannot wait to see the full vid! Maybe I missed something while reading, but what exactly did that Mustang guy say? Great job again, engine sounds beautiful.

I dont think I will make it again. The tunning issue with the JWT ECU needs to be worked out first. Only having 10 degrees of ignition advance is hurting the power very bad, and EGTs are through the roof I'm sure. Im working on the 90mm lightning MAF set up for next season. 11.4 is a great way to close the season.

Sorry for the late chim in, but congrats Mardi. I hope you get that JWT tune figured out with them....it could come in handy for me. I was supposed to get Jim some timing info but my tranny took a crap and now the car is probably done for the season.
Have you thought about the Ultimate E-manage (forgive me if someone already asked that)? When they get their heads out of their @sses and DO add the VQ30 to their list, though.
Yes, but true standalone will be so much better. Two step revlimit. Seperate timing maps that automatically switch for alch/water injection and nitrous. Fine tuning of maps based on IAT and EGT. Traction control (maybe). Knock control. Map tuning based on wide band O2 (EU does this too). Boost control.
What a pain the install and tuning will be, but the result will be awesome!

its really hard to find someone that can tune f-con being that hks only gives the software to dealers that attend their $3k school. i personally know a great aem tuner down here if not the best on the east coast.

EU can do the launch control, seperate timing maps that switch for whatever reason, individual cylinder ignition/fuel map, acceleration ignition/fuel map, vehicle speed adjustment map, IAT adjustment map, water temp adjustment map, AFR target feedback map(w/WB02 added input), eliminate the MAF for a boost sensor, control aux devices(boost control maybe?), control external relays, directly modify injector pulse width to control HUGE injectors, and hopefully soon the ability to increase the rev-limiter and advance timing once the VQ30 crank signal is added.
Standalones are better in many areas, however the EU can do more then even you need for far less money($450? vs. $1300+?) and definitely less install/tuning effort. With your JWT ECU and J&S, you already have the timing retard and increased rev-limiter taken care of. All you need is the timing advance, however with FI and N20, is that really needed? You could take care of that with a JWT race gas program until the EU update, if that's really a concern.
Standalones are great for bragging that you have one. IMHO, todays piggybacks like the VPro, EU, Unichip, SMTx, UTEC, etc. bridge the gap between your basic AFCs and standalones so well, you really have to just WANT a standalone to justify the cost/setup/tuning.
Just my .02 that you don't need one for a street car, but please show us what you can do with a standalone.

Most of it is visible in the software you download from here to try out:

Ignition Cut Feature - With the installation of a switch (in the “ON” position), ignition can be cut at a set RPM point

The launch control uses the ignition cut method. Basically, you set the throttle position and cut RPM, and once the EU picks up forward speed via the VSS, it goes stops cutting.
Toggle Switch (Dip) - 2 independent setting can now be stored and accessed via the “Toggle Switch.” 2 separate maps for the “Injection Adjustment Map” and the “Ignition Map.” (For Rotary engines, 2 separate “Primary and Secondary Injector Maps” and “Leading & Trailing Ignition Maps.”) i.e. one program for “street” and one for “race track”.
The toggle switch is basic method, however with the MSS the EU can adjust ignition timing when the MSS activates the optional output, ie N20, per the manual.
I think the MAF elimination, map tracing ability, and WB02 feedback tuning alone would be more then enough reason to spend the $450-$550.

i dont have much support where im at. i ran 12's with just the jwt so i know with proper management i can squeeze another second or two out of her with out blowing.
