Vortech AWAC vs air-air FMIC

This is a pretty interesting read, but it bothered me that they got such an improvement in power with the AWAC over the FMIC. It just didn't sit well with me. I finally realized why.
Look at figure 4 on page 11. They are comparing an AWAC that has a pressure drop of about .5 psi through it (at redline) against a FMIC that has a whopping 4 psi pressure drop! Then they increase the boost of the FMIC car by 4 psi in order to compare intake air temperatures at the throttle body for systems producing the same boost pressure. The extra 4 psi the FMIC car has to make results in more heat generated by the blower and lower efficiency of the SC system. So, of course the FMIC car is going to have higher intake air temperature (by 30 deg, see figure 5) and make lower power (342 hp vs 312 hp).
I contend that if you choose a FMIC that results in a 4 psi pressure drop across it, you are either a complete novice or you have a hidden agenda. A well chosen FMIC with well designed boost piping should result in about 1-1.5 psi pressure drop.

Slick marketing I must say. Not a good thing for those not as technically knowledgeable who are just looking for informational purposes. Perfect example of why you don't always trust what the manufacturer says.

they always doctor it in their favor. I have no problems with my custom air to water though.
My box is probably 3x the size of vortechs.
Another thing though.......
doesnt the air become more condensed with lower air temps? what affect does that have on their "results"?
