The Wizard and I just did this on my '96. It took around 20 hours total. I don't think you need special instructions, using the install instructions backwards will accomplish the same thing. However, I hope you labeled and saved all your stock parts. Otherwise it won't be a fun job. Why are you selling?

I bought the car with the scer already on, so I don't have any stock parts. I'm selling the car... so I was going to part it out.

Oh, not good. You will need quite a few missing parts then. The entire stock intake, stock belt, many stock bolts (timing chain cover, engine mounts, etc.), several brackets (although probably not madatory), stock belt adjuster assembly, etc. :I Good luck.

True, but those are the things that are actually affordable from Nissan (OEM). Try buying a stock intake or belt adjuster pulley. Ouch.

He's probably better off just buying a used aftermarket intake at this point (or even a used stock intake if someone has one lying around). Bolts can be had cheap at Nissan or like you said, Home Depot. The belt is affordable, the crank case hose can probably be substituted for any 3/4" ID hose, the coolant overflow can stay where it is or get ziptied, the PS lines can stay. Most of the fuel lines can go back without needing anything. So yeah, I guess it is just the pulley aduster which might be hard to get, right? Anything else?

you can just get one of those spectre crank case filters instead and any aftermarket intake. i made my own intake out of pvc, pvc cement, and RTV hi temp sealant.

thanks for all the help. If I do uninstall it I will sell it for $2300 although it sounds like a lot of work and time, so I may decide to sell it with the car.

Wise guy. :Smiley giving another smiley a noogy:

How long do you think it would take you to remove all SC parts and return everything back to stock? And when I say everything, I mean everything. I left the horn relocated and I left the power steering lines as is. Everything else from the 'cranked bracket' above the alternator to the relocated drop resistor went back to stock.

But yeah, I'd say 20 hours total. I think we did 4, 4-5 hour nights. Just being honest. I hate it when I hear people on here saying "I installed my Y-pipe in 20 minutes". I think if people were more honest, the posted install times would be a lot higher.

It took us 25 hours to install the kit onto my '99. Go ahead, work me over for the 'long' 25 hour install....

It's because Josh insisted on using his MasterCraft tools.

Seriously though,

dropping a bolt and looking it for it can take a half hour sometimes
Looking up a torque spec

And Josh wasn't kidding when he said that it's 100% back to stock except for the power steering lines and the relocated horn. We didn't miss any misc brackets or bolts. All those little things add up.

When we compare our install times to others, we always take much, much longer. We've learned that when someone says a job to x hours to do, we multiply it by 3 for us!

There's no doubt about it, it's much better to take your time and not get in a hurry.

I love when people estimate jobs here on the .org..I remember someone saying the other day that the USIM job takes a half hour...when everyone someone tells me how long a job on here takes, I ALWAYS multiply it...by the time I set up, get ready, break times, im well into the time. PLus this isnts a god dam* race. I take my time
