well after 2 long years of wiring issues my 99 is back once again........after i spun a rod bearing in the DET i decided too paint the engine bay and somewhere along that time i had some major wiring issues (cali spec). So now i have a 95 full harness and its almost road worthy. BTW Its now 6spd and not auto anymore. The turbo is back on and its ready too rock. I will have pics in a few days.

Im only runnning 3psi right now with a t3/t4 with stage 5 exhaust housing. only got about 4 miles on it i need too get exhaust. It sounds so sweet open exhaust, it whistles like you wouldnt believe.

Still doing the NA thing though.

I blew the welds (plastic DEK modded for topend) on my intake manifold today.

It begins......

Blew the welds on the DE-K manifold on the NA or turbo car? How'd ya do that?

Now when I come back up to finish my car I can get a ride in the next beast

Sweet. You had the Skyline front bumper before, correct?

And the 3.2 setup...you mean VQ35 internals + VQ30 block?

VQ35 block, heads and pistons and VQ30 crank for reduced compression.

Only if he uses a VQ30DET crank, since both use 50mm rod journals, correct?

The VQ30 and VQ35 mains have the same dimensions, so the cranks are interchangeable. The rod big end diameters are different, so you would have to change over rods with the crank. The small end diameters are the same, so you can interchange pistons. VQ30 crank and rods in a VQ35 block yields a 3.2 liter displacement with lower CR. VQ35 crank and rods in a VQ30 block yields 3.3 liters with higher CR, but there is the matter of the pistons sticking up .6 mm over the deck that has to be dealt with.

I probably should have said that that is my guess. I don't know for sure what Tilley is doing, but that is how you get to a 3.2 liter displacement and boost friendly lower compression ratio.

You are right.

BTW the VQ30det crank has a different size rod journals from the 3.5 or 3.0

2K2 FSM says you're right though, since the connecting rod big end inner diameter is 55mm and 2K1 FSM says 48mm.

Well i got the walbro in today and now this things runs real good. Im running a 5psi and it feels strong. The exedy stage 2 isnt taking it well though. I love the 6 spd trans at 100mph im taching 3200rpm. Im curious what rpm other cars are boosting at? I know i drove a turbo maxima and it had so much lag compared too mine (almost non exsistant). I can hit 5psi by 3000rpm.

Are you saying the exedy stage 2(how many puck?) can't handle 5 psi well?Sorry I'm in the process of buying a new clutch for my 95 turbo car.Thanx!

It was in a previous maxima but had little wear on it.

Heres an update on my car. Its running great and boosting 7psi now. I have one problem though after boosting it smokes a lil (oil). I was thinking it could be the breather at the front valve cover (breathes too atmosphere)? Anyone have any suggestions?

I get some smoke out of the my crank case breather under boost and heavy load.
