Did my first dyno ever at Stillin day last weekend...

I never did dyno my '96. So this was my first dyno ever. I have a '99 Cali Spec., 80,000 miles, all preventative maintenance current, 91 octane gas, V2 with 3.25 pulley and absolutely no other mods whatsoever (for now). 3 pulls for $50 (they did 4 pulls on mine for some reason).

Max Power = 238.32, Max Torque = 224.86
Max Power = 230.62, Max Torque = 204.61
Max Power = 227.20, Max Torque = 203.93
Max Power = 229.30, Max Torque = 204.26

Does this sound right to you guys? I think it does. It's basically what I was expecting.
My calcs: 190HP stock crank + 80HP V2 w/ 3.61 + (10HP per pulley size reduction x 2 size pulley size reductions) = 290 HP crank.
290 - 20% = 232 HP wheels.

I'm pretty happy. No where to go but up.

I think there is a video of it floating somewhere in the west coast forum. If anyone cares, I'll link the video and I can also scan and post the dyno sheet if anyone requests.

I will be going to the track on the 24th so I will let you guys know (1/8 mile only).

What's up with everyone buying SC's this week? Did a group of you hit a bank or what? LOL Good for you guys!

When I spoke to Adam at Stillen on Stillen day, he said he (Stillen) sold 5 SC's last week! He said they usually sell 5 in a year!

I was filming all the runs, which I will post shortly. Anyways, I was estimating about 250-255 HP to the wheels. The reason why it seems alittle low is that they had NO fan over the Hood, Because it's a FWD car & the dyno was setup for RWD. (The back of the dyno was against a fence) So FWD cars got no big fan. They had these little ones that blew onto the radiator, but the first run they weren't even on! & the other 3 the guy had them setup bad, where they barely even blew on the bumper! So his car was sitting there all hot & getting heat soaked after the 1st run.

I'm sure you had other mods though.

What have you dynoed since (and with what mods)?

I am confused that you are confused. I clearly state that the pulley I have installed is a 3.25".

that seems a little low to me, I know he has lots more mods than you but Jay25 put down somewhere in the neighborhood of 320 with that pulley, I doubt some bolt ons would make a 100 hp difference, but I could be wrong.

A few of you are saying my numbers look low. I think I would be more concerned if my calculations did not support the ratings I got. Do you guys agree with the rough calc. I showed in the first post?

Unfortunately James was not able to dyno that day due to a bad clutch. It would have made for a nice comparison since he has exactly what I have but a full Cattman set-up, Y-Pipe - back. He is also 5MT so his drivetrain losses would have been less.

Sure, I would have liked higher numbers but for now I am not overly alarmed. I have a lot more plans - I have only had the car for 3-4 months.

Did anyone dyno with the stillen headers on?

I'd like to see how they react when the car loses power because of them...

They loose power compaired to stock or compaired to a y pipe?

The numbers seem a little low. I put down 246whp on a 3.6" pulley (with Y and CAI). The run was done in 3rd gear (couldn't get a good 4th gear run). Some of the difference would be because you have an auto, also.

I don't know Chunger....to me your numbers still calc out just like mine did. Please correct me if my logic is wrong.

My rough calcs for you:
190 HP crank stock + 80 HP SC w/ 3.6" + 15 HP Y-pipe + 10 HP CAI = 295 HP
295 HP - 15% (manual transmission) = 250.75 wheel HP

I'm not much into formulas (esp. hp per mod types LOL)... it's what hits the ground that counts... I wouldn't worry about it too much... As long as the car has no problems it's all good.
