I did a lot of shopping around to find an online OEM dealer I liked. I found that Garrands was a really great experience. Dave Petro at Garrands is really cool. (See my signature). I asked him if he could do above and beyond the normal 25% off list for .org members and he came up with free shipping for purchases over $50. So as a thank you, I placed him in my sig. So if you guys would keep Garrands in mind, that would be cool. James/The Wizard and I have bought many things from Dave.

**UPDATE**

Well hopefully all the plates will be finished this week and Ill be able to start shipping them out real soon, possibly early next week...

The price is gonna be a bit higher than I expected but NOT by much, but due to the cost of the Modified Thermostat Housing, I had to bump it up...

A BRAND NEW Thread will be opened up once I get all the kits, and of course many pictures of them off the car...I got ones one the car already

Stillen doesnt even have a drawing of the V1 plate, I really highly dought they have a patent and even so, a patent is only good for so long...the V1 plates you see in circulation now are over 6 years old......Plus, there are suttle cut changes done to this plate since they cut there plates using fire and thats not accurate...these plates are being cut with water, and is very accurate

Real quick question. Off the parts list in sticky above for 2000-01 SC kit. What do I need and don't need. Some things I see on there I would think would be hard to get. like windsheild washer part. What about the electronics part of the list, Can that be easily made.

Most of the electronical parts and relays are for the in-line pump that comes with the stillen kit. All that can be bypassed by getting an Intank Walbro pump. they run about $90.

The windsheild washer relocator isnt really 100% important...when you put your kit on, you can find a way to hold it to the battary...either fab something up or get something.

If you look at the picture of the plate mounted to the engine: There is no room for the thermosat housing to stick out and hook up to the stock hose in the stock location.... The thermo housing needs to be cut and reshaped, welded, so that its re-routed down the side of the engine and out the front of the engine..the stock hose will need to be cut so there are no bends in the hose. (not a big deal)

I will take pics of the thermo housing once I get it back and back on the car...
With the V2 plate, there is "cut out" persay in the plate, to accomidate the hose to meet the stock thermo housing..

The pic may explain it better

Thats where the Thermo housing sticks out and angles down

O.k., thanks. I got you, so where the V2 plate "straddels" the coolant hose, the V1 does not? So then, the first question that comes to mind is, why not make a V1 plate with a "coolant hose straddel opening"?

Whouldnt work with where the Idler pulley is located...there is an idler pulley that is at the bottom of the V1 plate, that would be in the way of that "opening" that you speak of...

Today he made the jig....I was down there this afternoon and he was working on welding one for me to put on my car to "test fit"...once we know the Jig is good, then my car can get back together.

the past week weve had about 14 inches of rain in my area....hes in a flood zone, so nothing will be going on till the water receeds...the rivers will be cresting fri afternoon, so nothing will really be done till mondayish....ill be busy all night at the fire house pulling people out of there houses so the fastest I can get this jig comfermed, the faster I can put my car together

Well it looks like monday they will have a sample thermo housing made....then I can think about puttin my blower back on, as long as the sample fits.

Once this is done, im going to tell him to make them. this is the long process of making sure they fit. Once one is made and we know its good, then they will all be made pretty quick..

Heres kinda a cra*py picture of how tight it is and what route the thermo housing takes...on the bottom is the alternator and the top is the engine..its kinda hard to understand in this pic..

Be patient boys...

********To tell everyone, thats the Stillen Thermostat housing, NOT ONE that I had made. That thermostat Housing is about 8 years old, and has been taken on and off many different cars and modifed in little ways by people...thats why its looks so bad.********

Well here we go...Finally got one Thermo housing made...all the rest will be made pretty fast but the first one is always the longest...I got a estimated time of next thursday.

This is the wooden JiG im using to make sure there perfect...the Metal Jig is at the shop that they are doing the welding in

Stillen Part on Top...Matty's in the JIG Bottom

Here is it mounted on the car

With plate

It sticks out just as far as the Stillen Unit does. It came out really well

Good job Matt. In the 4 years that I have been on the .org, I have seen countless "Gauging interest" or "I have been speaking with a company that can make us...." threads. And 49 out of 50 of them go nowhere. In fact, if I had to bet on you when you first started this thread, I would have bet against you. You defied the odds. Great job.

Yea well remember I'm putting down all the loot before hand for 12 kits...11 that I will sell and one that I will keep for future kit building...When you think about it, its a big risk on my part...

I look at it this way, I had 16 people interested before I went through with this..Now I have about 23ish...even if say half drop out I still sold all my stock. I also know once people put start putting these kits on there cars, and start talking, there going to sell. The second run will require a "down payment" and a "minimum of 5" or so kits to get the ball rolling. Future kit making will also be easier because ill just be able to tell him how many I need, and leave. NO test fitting at all...hes also making a model S/C head Unit to fit into the plates when he gets done with each..just another test to make sure the quality is up to par

Also the thought of making a "V1 Starter Kit", including the Drain back plate and all necessary hardware. ....ideas are rolling

Im calling a patent lawyer tomorrow...I'm not sure about that though

-matt

P.S...nobosy is really posting anything about the pics and all...I hope people still want the kits..

What're the chances you'll include the drainback plate to the kit? Not crucial but I can do without modifying the stock one.

Im going to bump this back up. The plates are in the process of being made now. My car is almost back together if this rain ever stopped coming down and i didnt have work and school to deal with.

Im going to call my guy on Thursday to check on the progress. Should be early next week when the first kits will be sent out.

**If your interested in paying ahead of time, even a down payment, to 100% reserve a kit, then let me know. The orginal "Kit List" will act as a guide, but that was only really to show interest. Once there made, its first come first serve on the 10 full kits I will have available**

Final pics will be on the "For Sale Thread" Ill be making when I get them in my posetion in my room. An instruction sheet, very very simple compaired to complicated V2 install, will be provided with the kit, as long as what belt size you will need listed.

Again, everything you are being provided with will be listed in the "For Sale" thread soon to come. Keep your eyes open

-matt

On a side note, I had one coated in Nickle coating to avoid rust. The posts were shaved down a bit to fit the blower on the plate, and wont effect performance at all. **this was the first plate made, and needed a tad bit of alteration** I had my plate coated as well and the two came out really well. This plate will be offered at a cost of $150 more than the straight steel kits are going to be running at. To me, its well worth the cost and will be available to other kits upon request..I can only really do 2 kit coatings at a time. So it may not be worth it to even see if I can get two interested parties. I do have one available though for now
