I think he means the bolts that are used to mount the plate to the engine. For instance, Stillen does a good job with their chart for the V2 instructions (which bolt type goes in which hole). So the questions is, which bolts go in which holes for the V1 plate?

Its pretty much the same...I cant really tell you that for sure cause I dont have a V2 plate and a V1 plate here to look at...you may need one more M6 bolt for the back of the plate where the V1 is Longer and you use a different M8 bolt which is longer to catch the alternator

When I stripped out one of the rear bolts on my braket, I was only able to source the bolts at Stillen. Those Hex head long bolts are hard to come by.

Boltdepot.com for the crank case bolts are easy to order and have delivered...

part numbers from stillen and bolt sizes are found here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=291403

it gets a bit confusing though..

Yea if you would like...Its going to be another maybe week or week and a half before I start to send these out..
If you want to save on paypal charge of 3% you can send a money order...

**When I put up the final thread on the V1 plate kit, if people pay throgh paypal, you will need to add 3% for paypal fees**

Slimer, if you do send the $400, when you send in the rest of the balance just add on the 3% to that, if you like

Yes, thanks TJ. I saved your PM. But, like I said, you are one of the few who have provided feedback. The second car took about 25 hours.

A Blower Unit can be had on places like Ebay for $700-$1200..and can be bought seperately from Vortech for around $2000

V1 Blower = Kinda Loud
V2-SQ Blower = Super Quiet

as someone mentioned earlier....not sure if this was answered....this also means for the current v2 plate users the alternator has to be bolted back to its original position? or will the v1 plate clear all of this? Just another curiousity question

I have never installed a V2, so I'm not to sure what needs to be done with the alternator when you install your V2. But with the V1, the top bolt of the alternator comes off, and the bolt that goes through the Plate, (comes with kit) and lines up through the top hole of the alternator...

If the question is, "When you install the V1 plate, does the alternator stay in the stock location?" then YES..

matty-you have to rotate the alternator about 20 degrees in the v2 install. I think that you will have to loosen the other alternator bolt so it will line up with the new plate.

yea not a big deal...you just need to line up the bottom M8 Bolt on the V1 plate with the top hole on the alternator.

You will also have to grinde off the NUB of the alternator to make room for the Modified Thermostat Housing. You can either take the alternator off, and take it to a bench grinder, or take a dremel to it and grinde it off. I took the Dremel route and it took no longer than 20 minutes. Pictures will be taken, dont you worry

There was a coating on the one from Stillen so it wouldnt rust. Stupid me, took it to a wire wheel when I first bought the kit and thats why mine is rusted.

Paint wouldnt be a bad idea...Ive seen guys that have painted theres

Im really happy how the good the plate came out.

Matt,
So are you going to intall one and use it for a while or are you putting yours back on and selling the new ones? Will that make Steve the first to try one out?

Yup. Looks like its me! I'm excited to get it. Those pics look great. I see what you were saying about the excess material that was around a couple of mounting points.

NO..I had it on the car and running...I had to get the plate back to him before he left for the day and didnt relize I shoulda snapped pics with it on the car...I popped just the plate back on, and snapped a few before I left...its a real plus to be using the stock fenner drive pulley that came from stillen so you know everything lines up correct. This isnt a rough scetch of the plate, He uses very precise measurments with lasers and such.lol...

My blower will be going back on, once he gets a few thermo housings made..(cant put the plate on without the thermo housings)

Heres what youll need to shave on your alternator...took me 15 min with a dremel bit like this

Just make sure you dont hit the threads

That excess material was left because Stillen used FIRE to cut the plate and not a machine...the machine that my guy uses, is alot more "presice" making alot better cuts and not sloppy

Stillen Cuts were sloppy and not accurate at all
