3" Exhaust

Im looking into this since Im putting down alot of power now, I think it would be benifitial

Now I was looking at the Warpspeed 3" exhaust including the Y-pipe, and everything I will need.. How is that system? Magnaflow or Dynomax muffler, from guys with experience with either for loudness ??

I was thinking of jsut getting the Y-pipe and building an exhaust, but the place I go to cant get mandral bends, they can only get regular bends in the exhaust, NO good i guess

The warpspeed system is $735 after shipping which isnt too bad I guess

Anyone with any compants, post up here

Do it the way many others have done it; cut and weld to make bends. I have seen this done many times and they seem to hold up very well.

I say just get a cut out. Get the 3" y pipe and then go with the Electric cut out or the ATP boost actuated 3" cut out. That way it wouldn't be loud ALLLLL the time

Ehhh I'm not a big fan of that at all...Id rather have a nice clean full exhaust with a muffler that isnt OVERKILL

Warpspeed sais on their site that the DynoMax Turbo muffler that comes with there kit is on the quieter side..

Now i was thinking, just the Y-pipe is $250 and the entire setup is $599 with Y-pipe, Test pipe, and cat-back with muffler...Now If i just get the Y-pipe and Test pipe that will leave me with about $300 to get a custom 3" cat-back, somehow using mandral bends, and Ill be able to Chose a muffler...any feedback on that IDea, and whats a nice muffler kinda on the quieter side

Warpspeed uses crappy resonators, so their systems are loud. The magnaflow is unbearable. I currently run there 3 inch b pipe mated to a blitz nur spec, and its at least 2x quiter than warpspeed's system.

When I was sc'd, I had the 3 inch y pipe + the 3 inch catback, and it was nasty. Dynomax turbo makes the car sound like a truck too, not a fan. My vote goes to building your own with quality resonators.

Magnaflow resonators. Most are all same as long as you get one with perforted core.

U have a Cattman 3" Y-Pipe and custom mandrel B-Pipe.....With the Dynomax muffler.

I used to have a Magnaflow muffler PLUS a resonator and it was 2x louder than my Dynomax with NO resonator.

I have the full warpspeed 3" catback into a dynomax super turbo muffler. I think the car sounds great for a 3.0L, it has no rasp at all and is bearable on the noise factor. I've also never heard a truck that sounds like my car either.

I plan on going 3" exhaust setup when I start my turbo setup, a shop around me does custom exhausts and has good bends and they only charge $150. I already have a 3" inlet turbo muffler on my car now but it sounds good with a 2.5" custom exhaust. But when I go turbo, im going 3" downpipe, straight back to the muffler, should let that turbo breathe a bit.

Links ?? and what kinda bends will I need past the test pipe ?? (for people that have ordered the bends already and have done this) If I get the bends, ill have no problem with having the shop do this, once I get a brand name of good resonators and a good muffler

After the test pipe, you need 2 90 degree bends, and another 2 45 degree bends to get around the rear beam.

I think the best way is just to run one long one from the test pipe down to that first bend..... As mentioned earlier - get a perforated core.

a mandrel bend is a mandrel bend. Those look fine. I would go ahead and just get all Stainless steel and make it look pimp .

Those will get the job done. I used 2 u bends that had a 4"radius, and 1 ubend that had a 6" radius. Summitracing.com had them shipped to me for $61 in 2 days. The Magnaflow 14835 muffler sounds great although it does sound a bit raspy, but I blame that on the $hit PFI flexpipe. I haven't found a resonator yet that I like but one will be going on soon, with a cat. Emissions just started here, and I haven't had a cat in 3 years.

You can make any bend you want out of U bends so just buy a few of those i say, and cut them where needed to get the desired angle. Then use some straight pieces and viola.

The major car online stores usually have them. summit, jegs, prostreetonline, etc. RRE has some on their website roadraceengineering.com, there were about 5 others i had bookmarked back in day that i got just from google, but when i lost my bookmarks i lost them. I seem to remember one being something like KT Engineering, but when i looked up ktengineering.com it was an aerospace company so that must not have been it.

heres some more from a "mandrel u bend" search on google.

That place in a little north on Trenton... not sure how far north you are, but they do good work. I know a few people with various cars who have all had their exhaust done there. They made me a 2.5" non-mandrel bent catback and welded on my muffler for like $150. They can also do mandrel bends. It's worth giving them a call for a rough estimate.

Just called them...came to $460 installed for all 3" mandral with resonator and muffler

So, $270 for the Y-pipe-test pipe...so roughly $800 for a good 3" exhaust

Im stoppin by Meineke tomorrow to get a price...

Ill buy the bends online, a couple U bends...I may have him order the resonator, or Ill just get it and the muffler...Not sure on the muffler Im gonna go with yet...then I'll just order the Y-pipe and test pipe from Warpspeed and have him put it all in.

Ill talk to him tomorrow and see what he wants me to do..and what I should order online.
