What are you Using for Cold Air Piping ?

Alright Ive had the same setup since ive done my S/C and the pipeing keeps comeing un-done...its coming off the blower and between the section of piping and the piping I have tucked into the fender-well...

The first section is from Home-Depot,...that is connected to the second 90 degree bend with a section of pipe that holds...its coming apart there too

Heres a pic

You can tell the white peice of pipeing between the two rubber sections coeming apart a bit...its about to fall off in this pic

Any ideas on how to fix this. ?? I drive around, and come home, and its coming off...I dont mind changing it all around, if it will work.

It actually worked better with my old screw type clamps...it never came off

Thats the same type rubber connector from Home Depot..I tryed hacking it up to make it work better, but it didnt

Go to NAPA and buy 3 inch heater hose from a Tractor trailer. I just use one section and thats it. You can use the T bolts to secure for more piece of mind.

I got a 3.5" mandrel bent U-bend from Stahlheaders.com.

PVC is way too restrictive to flow well, being thick-walled.

You just cut the U bend and made the intake from the metal, using silicone couplers at the blower end ??
Seems like a better idea since I cant really get this to stay on the blower

Matty I got that same Home Depot POS sh*t. Grab that crap and trash it. My CAI keeps on coming loose. Ill be going to NAPA or a boat shop to get some 3-3.5 inch heater hosing. That works way better then that rubber garbage.

OK , stop what your doing!!!

No, I have the same connector from HOME DEPOT! YOU need to CUT OFF the edge connected to the blower. The "lip" , just cut that off at the edge as smooth as posible. Then put it back on and it will not slip off, that is how I figured this out, it kept slipping off after so many miles or high boost runs... It works!

Oh, leave as litte of rubber (visible rubber) between the clamp and the blower. This will solve the problem

I am still trashing that short az garbage. I am going with the good old reliable connector that the blowers with come with but in 3 inch.

The distance from the SC to the wheel well in the 5th gen must be different than on the 4th gens. Because I have never had a problem of it falling off.

It is only because of the lip on the rubber is raised and takes about a 1/4 inch away from the available clamping surface on the blower inlet

You mean how much of the straight leg did I leave? I don't know, I didn't measure it. You don't want too much of the pipe going into the filter though. It's best if the pipe is cut so that the filter fits with no extra pipe length inside the filter.

Just get the T-trim with the larger opening and it fits like a glove.
