S/C or Turbo'd max with 142,000 miles

fellas, I am looking into gaining some more hp with either a turbo kit or S/C and I need to know if it will be worth it to drop either one on my car which has 142,000 and growing? What are some of the things that I should consider before going this route? Compression would be one of them anything else that I should consider? Your help is greatly appreciated.

BTW - the max is a 97 5spd....

Just so you know I have 200,000 miles on my SC 96. No problems at all. Check the compression and if its good then boost it.

With that many miles your water pump is one of the things that will go out. WHen you install that new clutch check that rear main seal to see if its leaking. If it is replace both front and rear upper oil pan seals. Ensure you dont have a CEL and it carries over after you boost it.

JAY25 is absouletly correct, I have a 1995 with 160k and the water pump began to leak shortly after being boosted.
