Advantages of a: Built VQ35 vs Built VQ30

I was just looking at the advantages of building a VQ35 vs building a VQ30.

When I say build I am talking along the lines of Madigrasmax.

Will they both acomplish the same thing, is the power potential better in one application then the other?

Thoughts?

Thanks Guys!

also look into other forums like the 350's and g35's

the advantages of the vq35 over the vq30 is more aftermarket support.

advantages of a vq35 over the vq30 in general:
1. displacement
2. lighter components
3. better designed heads

since the vq30 is more stout with a shorter stroke, I guess it can rev higher more safely at super high hp levels. However with the right tuning and a built engine, the vq35 can easily be compensated for that (IMO)

If you want to build an engine then I would say go for the VQ35 for the displacement, off the shelf part access, and better heads. Until you start blowing engines from power I say stick with the VQ30 or just put some VQ35 heads on there and lower the compression a bit. The pathfinder heads are supposed to work with the VQ30 oval style IMs.

Do the pathfinder heads flow as well as the other VQ35 heads (or at least better than VQ30 heads?)

I really don't know. I know stephenmax has a PF engine that he is taking apart so he would be the only one I know of that could really look at them and comment.
