Mounting Gauge on Steering Column ??
How should I tackle this ??
I want to attach this gauge:
Its only .75 of an inch thick so I Figure on the steering column is the best place...How should I go mounting this ?? Im thinking taking the top plastic peice off and molding something on there to hold the gauge. The wireing will be go behind the cluster down to the center console to hook up to datalog..
Any ideas.. I love ideas

I think its HKS that makes universal mounting brackets, with a moldable base. They just come with a ring that goes around the gauge, then it bolts to the base, which you can attach with double sided tape, or bolt it down. The base bends to conform with the shape of the surface its mounted on, worked pretty good for me. They look similiar to this, which greddy makes...

Here is the mount, it's so funny because I was going to do the samething in my 2002, mount the widebang air/fuel on the steering colum, that way there is no way to miss knowing if your running rich/lean. My friend has his boost gauge on the colum, it's in perfect view and isnt blocking anything.

for mine that is mounted on my steering column, it is autometer part #2204. it was like $20 at the local parts store. It screws straight into the steering column. Mike D. has that edo or something from www.egauges.com
both are nice
i look out the gauge pod because of the zt-2 and I am putting another cup and the zt-2 display all on the steering column for a little more sleeper look. It is also better for seeing the wbo2 reading vs. rpms without having to tote the laptop around all the time.
If i have time tonite, I'll post a pic.

You have to remember, this WB gauge is only .75 of an inch thick...you need ot have enough room for that band to go around.
show me what yours looks like..
I may order a guage pod from Ebay, for like 12$ and mold it into my steering column peice, let it dry and paint it...then Ill be able to hide the wires and it may look clean..

well, the cup makes it look deeper, you might try to use the greddy or hks band-type mounting pods like mtrai's. i forget how deep mike's is, but he has it zip tied to his defrosting vent. here is a picture of mine.

Yea I havent decided to go with the custom molded gauge, buying one on ebay and molding it to the top of the plastic peice, then painting or buying the Greddy part and doing it that way
Obviously getting the Greddy part will be the easiest cause I buy it and install it right away, but I like the look of the pod
