I use emanage blue. My car has nitrous but I haven't used the nitrous yet.

Alrighty- I narrowed it down to 2 turbo's: GT35R BB T3 turbine:.82a/r and the T4/GT35 T4 turbine: .70/ar.

After doing some searching, I find that the GT35R will spool great even with the reversed y-pipe from Nigel's old thread, I am thinking with the forward y-pipe I can get away with a .82a/r. However I do have a few concerns:
First: being that it is watercooled(also oil cooled), I assume I would need to tap a coolant line into it correct? if so how and where? Second, reading the specs, it is a T3 turbine, would I have any choking problems like mention earlier in the thread? Third: I would like to push 12-15psi on high boost(not daily); since I just purhased a J&S to have the ability to retard timing, I can better tune for my power goal of seeing over 400whp @12-15psi, could the GT35R be able to do that? I saw that Nigel dyno 341 whp and 336 wtq @ 12.3 psi? and thats with a T4 exhaust housing so I really don't know if this turbo can get me there.
I feel that the T4/GT35 can get me there and I really like the .70 a/r. which is not available for the GT35R.

The GT35R seems great but the cheapest I saw was $1299 and Nigel's was a custom ported and anti-surged so I'm expecting it to be a little more. So my dilema is: Is it worth the $400-$600 more for the GT35R than what I intially plan to buy which is the T4/GT35 ($870)?

Coolant lines run through the TB and the back of the IM by EGR. You can easily use those lines to provide coolant to the turbo.

The green run was his GT35R run I believe, the powerband would agree with that assessment too.

The last one you listed looks pretty good to me. You can always change turbine housings later if the .68 proves too small. Turbos are sortof like legos, you can take off parts and put on bigger parts to some extent (as long as they are based on the same center section usually).

good to know, thanx Neal. Hows your car holding up? Heard you partially blew a gasket. Still holding 12psi?
Yea I think I am leaning definately towards the GT35R/T4. I can't wait when Mingo's piping is done so I can start on the install.

Call PFi earlier today but it was like 45mins after they closed and everyone had went home already. I did however talked to one of the mechanics that was still there and we spoke a little Nigel's setup. He mention that it was to his knowledge that Nigel ran a .68a/r like the specs above and confirmed that his last dyno with the Gt35R was around 430whp and 400Wtq, he gave me an estimate of around $1300 for that turbo but I was to call and talk to Brent to get the exact pricing tomorrow.
Hopefully its around that price then this will be the turbo I'll be getting.

Alright, I spoke with Brent and its actually only around $1100 and $12 shipping. He said its actually a .81a/r t4 housing. This is definately my new turbo of choice, I can't wait.

Brent told me its the standard GT35R BB with a T4 housing which he said is the .81a/r. Its the same turbo Nigel ran, I tried to get the specific specs on it, he didn't have any at hand but thats when he told me it was a T4 .81a/r. He also said the same turbo pulled a 11.5sec 1/4 in Maryland but I was not sure if it was in a Max.
Neal, if you have a minute give them a call also and ask for Brent (he's the owner), maybe you have better luck getting more info out of them. I'm pretty sure its around that price and he has em in stock so I may be getting one sometime next week.
Isn't there a 56/58mm trim and a 61mm trim? I was suprise that He said it was a .81a/r cuz I thought it came in the .68a/r with the T4 and .82a/r in the T3. Maybe I call them later this week, I'll get the specifics.

Just remember, the 430whp is corrected for altitude since PFI is at like 5000 ft. So the numbers you get at that boost level are likely to be a lot lower.

If you are set on a T4 turbine, I would say go with the 0.58 A/R O-trim if you want decent boost vs RPM.

I've had this turbo since December, its a .68ar. Boost comes in around 2800rpm depending on what gear, (higher gears even lower). I've seen 11psi by 4k. Its got great topend power, have beaten big V8s on the hwy while side by side until full spool next to a Evo MR. I think its a little big for the 1/4 but not too bad, I think once its actually prep for the track I can put some decent numbers down. Overall, I love the turbo.

It should be easy to "dyno" those numbers at that altitude...

Of course a 1.20 correction factor doesn't make any sense on a turboed vehicle...

I hate to cheat to get those numbers but I think I am around 350ish whp right now (even tho my wtq figures and the dyno are all that accurate) since I've beaten a few cars that have dynoed around 300-330hp around the same weight. I think when permitted financially, I'll go it mustang dynoed that way we will know for sure if these current numbers are correct or not.
