Any boosted 5.5 gens?

I was just wondering if anyone has supercharged or turbocharged their 5.5 gen max's. Does anyone make a kit for them yet? I would be interested in doing this sometime in the future, I know this car would absolutely fly with some boost. Any links would be helpful

A blue 5.5 gen 6spd showed up to the last MCC meet. Custom designed turbo system. Very fast. Very nice.

Damn I'm jealous, any shots of the front mount intercooler? I bet it looks sick. Is this guy on the org? I wonder what size turbo he has and how much boost he is running. I have so many questions for him......

Does anyone know when the SSR TC for the 5.5 Maxima will be available to the public? I couldn't find anything posted on their site about this kit...

unless your car is going to be a straight up weekend car, i would not be in a hurry to use this kit, with the turbo being outside by the tranny. dirt+gravel+ rain = short lived turbo.

Oy....and I'm up in Canada....I'm guessing snow and salt wouldn't be too good for it either

there should be a way to protect the turbo, no? a protective case or something? a little extra work but with the minimum options for boost, that wouldnt b a bad idea.

Exactly how is that? Since your engine and tranny are also exposed. Does that mean these items are also going to be short lived?

well my personal belief is that the casings for the engine and tranny were designed and tested for ocassional interaction with the elements. a turbo on the other hand, i have serious doubts that the manufacturers designed them with the intention that it would be exposed to rocks constantly hitting it along with snow, salt, rain, etc......I don't know, to each his own. if someone is confident that this will not be a problem for them, go ahead. i know someone with a pfi kit whose downpipe keeps hitting the ground causing it to be dented pretty bad with just an eibach drop, so this is another factor to consider with the turbo being that low. but like i said to each his own. i can't wait to see a 5.5 boosted though.

I heard it's supposed to be released the week after the pigs flap their wings hard enough to make hell freeze over.

actually from what i remember, it's the snailshell being mounted so low that could make it susceptible to say.. a splash of water during a hard run causing..God forbid..crackage!
