Upgrading Clutch Disk

To accommodate added horse power, I will be upgrading from my ACT Street Disk to a 6 Puck Race Disk. However, I thought they made 6 Puck Disks with a spring loaded center section? I would think this would be safer on the transmission?

Any of you guys running the 6 puck ACT race disk ran into any problems? Are the Un-Sprung Center sections safe?

Thanks.

I'm going with a Clutchnet organic "yellow" clutch and their "yellow" pp. My car is strictly a daily driver, so I'll pass on any puck-style disc.

Seems like the organic clutch is pretty strong. My friend's SR20DET B13 SE-R with an organic clutchnet has around 220whp (nearly double the stock hp) and it grabs just fine.

Clutchnet, will this work well with my current ACT Pressure plate? Or should I get their 2x/3x Red Pressure-plate. I looking for something good for about 450hp.

I also heard that Spec Clutch is good? Any opinions?

yup all clutch parts are interchangable you can use any brand disc with any brand pp even OEM

what makes you want to upgrade anyway is your clutch slipping

No. I will be upgrading to a GT35R. My current setup is ACT Street Disc with ACT pressure Plate. I want to be able to support about 400hp. I really don't think that my current clutch setup will hold up to the added power.

Call ACT and ask them what that setup is rated at. I seem to remember the figure 376tq for ACT for some reason. Anyways I've got an ACT PP and clutchnet 6 puck and it's held alot more than 400whp.

Thats good. I would hate to buy a new Pressure Plate. But the disk definately needs to be upgraded. I will get the Clutchnet Sprung 6 puk disc. And keep my ACT Pressure Plate.

Take this with a grain of salt... but here's my history with ACT

I have his same clutch...it was ran REALLY hard, but broken in well, for about a year and a half boosted. Then, I ran it NA for about a year after that. I've been boosted for a little more than a year now, and yea you guessed it, still on that act.... It's seen 11 psi on the supercharger, and up to 17-18 on the turbo.... it hasn't ever slipped once...
