No, regular USB cable won't work unless something has changed in the last 4 months or so. GReddy engineered the need for a special chip in the connector of the cable otherwise everyone would just buy a $10 USB cable rather than pay $100 for the GReddy cable.

That's an emanage to e-01 cable, different than what I'm talking about. As of my last inquiry it was still necessary to use either the GReddy support cable (usb on one end, serial on the other) or Simon's USB clone cable. Greddy cable and software is $115 at mohd, Simon's USB clone cable (what I have) is like $60 iirc. Both are for connecting your emanage blue to your laptop, and have a special chip in them to enable them to work.

I'm talking about emanage blue as I stated above because that's what I have and that's what crewchief has. I have no idea what is going on with the ultimate.

That is nice that greddy made it possible for the Ultimate to use just a normal off the shelf USB cable. I wish the Blue had that ability.

Greddy E-Manage Support Tool Clone Cable

Hi all, I make clone cables, either greddy to serial connector (like the origonal) or with a USB adaptor for those without a serial connection, if anyone is interested please email me at: uksupratt@yahoo.co.uk

Cheers all
