I was thinking about that yesterday. For some reason, it appears 1.66666 is the magic number. Check this out:
vacuum should be 20 Hg-In but it reads 12. 20/12 = 1.67
boost should be 10 PSI but reads 6. 10/6 = 1.67.
Coincidence?

Ahhhhhhh........... much better. My MAP sensor showed up yesterday. I hooked it up and took Max for a quick drive. Now the numbers make sense! 18-20 vacuum. 9-10 boost. Awesome.
Sheesh, I'm glad that is over/resolved. An experience like that really messes with your head. Here we are installing something we have never installed before. Then we get numbers we know are wrong. And before I used the MightyVac and before we installed Jim's gauge, I thought it could be my car. And that felt even more for sure once I installed Jim's gauge and MAP sensor on my car and still got the same bad numbers. Then we install Jim's on his car and he has the same bad numbers as I do. Of course we would like to blame the gauge/parts themselves but when you have the same problem on two cars, it 'has to' be the install, not the gauges, right? What are the odds of two gauges being wrong? So we check and recheck our work, try lots of shots in the dark, etc. Then we finally decide to call AutoMeter (should have done that first) and it turns out we both have the wrong MAP sensor. Fun mental ride.
Have you guys noticed how darn hot these gauges get at night when the light is on??? You litterally can't leave your finger on top of the gauge!
Of course, they came out with the Phantom II series right after we purchased our Phantom I's. Phantom II
