Recommendations on who to contact at Votrech

I am interested in getting a V1 rebuild, and I remember there was a thread about it awhile back. I would like to get some more information about this subject and I would be nice if someone can link me to that thread. Also if somebody can recommend a person for me to contact at Vortech, I would really appreciate that. Thank you very much in advance.

I just called in about a V1 rebuild too. I recommend talking to anyone except someone named Jamie/Jaime. Either he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or he shouldn't be working the phones.

It's 325 for a minor rebuild (bearings and seals). Impeller and gear replacement cost extra. Current lead time once it has reached Vortech is 1.5~2 weeks

Nismo98, I was just wondering what prompted you to want to do a rebuild?

Andrei, this information must be at least 2 years old but I save everything I come across on the .org if I think it will help me later. I remember a thread where someone said this guy was really cool - so I saved the info. Hope it helps.

Jaime is the Main guy in the Service Department but he is also the hardest one to talk to..I have spoken to mike as well, and hes a bit better. When I had my blower problems last year, I spoke to everyone at Vortech and finally was happy with the general manager. You should be ok dealing with Jaime. When and if a problem arrises, dont expect Jaime to help you.
I got my blower rebuilt twice from them, and both times it leaked after wards, and he still insisted on me sending it back for a rebuild, of course after taking it all the way back off the car...Before taking it back and sending it back on my expence, I got a brand NEW V2 unit sent to me after speaking to some "important" guys at Vortech. They really arent known for there customer service

Hope that helps bro

Just curious, what are the symptoms that you guys experience to know you need a rebuild? Noise? Performance? Oil leaks? Other?

Oil leaks, boost loss, noise can be one cause all there are, are bearings inside the case.

I'm not sure exactly what you just said but regarding the oil leak, where do you see the oil coming from?

Well I saw that oil on the inlet side of the intake housing which is very un-comman. Usually youll see oil out of the bottom of the blower housing between the two sections of the blower. Slide your hand under there.

You mean in the actual SC inlet? By the impeller blades? I saw some liquid there too on mine and I was worried at first but since it had more of a red color, I just assumed it was "K+N juice" that I probably over-applied.

If it was Red it was probably K&N "juice"
Yea..thats where I saw oil 1200 miles after the first rebuild and 400 miles after the second rebuild. It was all over the fins and dripping down into my Cold Air system I have in the Fender. I guess the case on the Unit was warped possibly. or they didnt rebuild it correctly
